Warning: Long (Also my first post haha)
So I (20F) just finished my 3rd year of college. My good friend (20M) is my same year & major. We’ve gone on countless class field trips/camping trips together with our classmates for 3 years and it’s always so fun. When my friends see him on my social media page or meet him in the lab they always tell me “oh he’s so cute! Why don’t you date him??” And I always laugh and tell them I would never date someone on my department.
We’ve not always spent a lot of time together over the years but it’s always really quality time when we are together. I’ve dated a few people in college and he has too. And since our university sent us all home recently he’s texted me some and he called me and we talked for 2 hours over the phone. We had really deep conversations where we both were really vulnerable about what we’re struggling with.
Yesterday he said he was back in town and wanted to know if I wanted to go “for a cruise,” his words. It was really fun and we found some places to hike (while making sure we don’t get around other people bc corona).
I lightheartedly made a comment about how it’s so easy to talk to him and he got serious and said that it felt so natural to open up and talk to me (he’s pretty introverted).
We went back to my house and we ended up talking until almost 1am. My housemates were teasing me about it today but it made me realize—am I in love with him?
I’ve realized that every time he started talking to a girl I’d get sad, but we always talked about our relationships with each other.
Is it possible he might also like me? I don’t want to make things awkward or ruin our friendship, but I want to know?
He teases me a lot and likes to go hiking with me and has invited me to do a bunch of stuff with him. He’s said, “in the fall we just need to do more stuff together!” and things like that.
What should I do?
TL; DR: I might be in love with a close guy friend of mine, how can I tell if he might be interested in me?
