Have you ever said yes to a date/hangout out of politeness?

I’m wondering how often this actually happens and if I’m overthinking my situation.

I asked two girls I met on tinder out, expecting both of them to say they weren’t interested, due to how the messages were going, getting slow replies, etc. but I got an enthusiastic yes to both to my surprise!

I can’t shake the feeling though that they are only seeing me to be polite and there may not be any interest. Am I wrong for thinking this?

I acknowledge it’s coming from an insecure place, but I’m wondering if anyone could shed some light on how I’m feeling from the point of view of being asked out.

Any advice on how to get out of this mentality would also be appreciated. Thanks!
