You’re going to fuck up. You’re going to make a lot of mistakes. Don’t even try not to make a mistake because you will. So, forget mistakes and focus on creating a solid life.
- Know yourself. You cannot go into a relationship thinking the other person will make you happy or complete. If you’re unhappy where you are, you will be unhappy with someone else. PEOPLE DONT MAKE YOU HAPPY.
Spend time alone. Get to know yourself, your likes, your dislikes. What type of person do you want in your life? Knowing all this will filter out a lot of noise and you’ll only go after what you want.
- People are only additions in your life, they are never the substance – you are the substance. If your life is miserable, no person can make it better for you. You have got to create a life worth living, then invite people to join you. If you’re thinking being with someone will suddenly change you, it won’t.
While on this, don’t forget rule #1, which is know and value yourself and therefore never put anyone on a pedestal.
People fail in relationships because they want to fill a void, because they want to think this person will make them happy. No one can make you happy. Create a good life and have people join you on the journey.
This approach is solid and has substance. Focusing on structural changes will not give you results. Structure meaning changing your body language, tone of voice, texting first or last or whatever. If you’re a solid person with character, you’re not scared to text first, double text, triple text or ignore the person for 3 weeks. Because you don’t need them. You’re happy with your life and no amount of gimmick can give you that.
