I have severe anxiety and depression, so as a result I have pretty low self-esteem. Right now, I am trying to work on managing them (with medication/therapy) and raising my self-esteem and my confidence levels.
I just started dating this boy from uni (who I was friends with previously) and I still cannot get over the fact that he likes me like that. I just find it so odd that someone would like me platonically, let alone romantically. I don’t think I’m terrible or anything, I just don’t think that I am anything special. I’m just truly baffled to think that he may think about me throughout the day and want to see me. The other day he told me that talking to me makes him so happy – which I find to be crazy.
Now I don’t want to seem ungrateful for his attention and affection, but does anyone have an idea on how to become comfortable with people thinking highly of you? I do not like having this insecure mindset and wish to change it, so I can become a better person.
Thank you for your time.
