How do I meet new people? (20M)

I’m sick of being single and want to meet new people. Online dating sucks and I’m not confident enough to just go out and meet new people. I have friends, I go out a lot and I can talk to people pretty easily but I’ve never really made my own friends. Obviously in school I did and majority of my friend group is my friends from school and friends we’ve made through other friends from school.

I don’t really have any hobbies where I can just go and meet new people. I love sports and music but I don’t play any sports and that time has passed me by. And I don’t really know how I’d meet people through music.

Also the idea of just going out and joining a club or a group by myself without my friends as a safety net freaks me out, I haven’t done anything like that since I was a kid.
