How do people casually shrug off rejection so easily?

I have never asked anyone out but for sure I have had plenty of crushes but I have never had the guts of asking them out. I don’t know how you guys do it so easily

If I ask someone out, lets say at school, and they reject me, I have been embarrassed in front of anyone and I can guarantee it would make the person who I asked out feel uncomfortable too. I wouldn’t want to do that to someone. Not to mention that people would make jokes out of it and if I were to do it over text, news would definitely spread

And what about the relationship I share with them already. My current friendship with them would be ruined. It would be so awkward
