How do you deal with a crush you can’t have ?

Hello all,

So I am a 21 year old female and I go to a pretty large university. So from January I started to have huge crush on this guy who was in my class… we don’t share any friend groups or any clubs or activities really except the fact that he was in my class. And the reason this dude stuck with me is he checks off every physical aspect I look for in a guy… down to small details…. but he seemed pretty off in class and didn’t really talk to anyone and I was a shy shy girl and super self conscious so I didn’t approach him. I found out that he’s in the football team (our team is division 1 but but that popular of a football team) and he’s pretty jocky and what you call “popular” the professor somehow knew him and called him a “meathead”… me and my friends also found his insta and saw he has many many girls around him which are just his friends but also shows how easy it is for him to get a girl (which is totally okay no judgement)

But it made my self confidence worse of course. I would say for me I am way more academically successful than being athletic but I still have fun and have lots of friends and usually can easy open up a conversation with a guy that I find attractive.. but for some reason this is the first guy in years that I felt extremely intimated to a point that I wish he didn’t look in my direction and not look at my appearance. Now, about months later I still can’t get this guy off my head, ofcoarse I am still talking to other guys I find attractive but I don’t understand why this Certain dude stands out a lot to me and how badly nervous I get.

My friend saw him on Hinge which is supposed to be a app made more for dating instead of hookups / casual relationships so I also think he’s looking for a relationship but also I can’t get enough guts to go talk to him…. i find it embarrassing Bc before I definitely did approach many guys before and I don’t understand why I am chickening out on this one…..

At this point idk what to do? Should I forget him? How do I deal with this? Sorry if I’m a embarrassing 21 year old ?
