How do you know when you’re ready to live with someone?

I (31F) have been dating my boyfriend (30M) for about a year now. We spend weekends at each others houses and also time during the week, but we don't live together. I have been tossing around the idea of asking him to move in, but don't want to mess up what we have. How do I know if it's the right time?
