My cousin told this guy at his work about me and tried setting us up, so the guy ended up adding me as a friend online but never sent a message. He acted interested but did mention he was going on another date the next day. It's been a few days, and I am confused why he hasn't tried reaching out. Although it has always backfired, I am considering just biting the bullet and messaging him first because maybe he feels awkward since he doesn't really know my cousin all that well. After my cousin told me about him, I felt excited and interested in getting to know him so I've been thinking why not just go for it when waiting seems to drive me nuts? Would it be weird for me to message first to break the ice? I was thinking something simple along the lines of "hey :)" or "So I heard my cousin tried playing matchmaker… lol" but am not sure if either of these are good enough.
