How should I treat this?

Hello everyone,

I will try to make it as brief as possible.

About 4 months ago, I started texting this girl. Since then, we basically talk 24/7. However, there’s two things: I talk to her first most of the time, and she apparently hates video calls so she refused to talk on FaceTime. However, we’re always sending eachothers pictures, videos and voice messages of ourselves.

Anyways, a couple of weeks ago, I told her that I liked her. Basically, what she said was that she has somewhat of an interest in me, but she is in a place in her life right now where she doesn’t want to date anyone. I accepted that, but since then she randomly throws small hints, like for example telling me that she never texts guys first but she sometimes does it with me because i’m not too clingy.

So, as I’ve mentioned, she claims she hates video calls, and I’ve asked her to do it multiple times and accepted the fact that she refused. However, I have told her that I am a big fan of FaceTime and that’s something I do with all of my friends and family. So, last week, we were talking, and I told her that I feel we got to a point where we should do it, and said that I wanted her to call me and will give her the time to feel comfortable to do it, without being forced. She got mad and started saying that I am making her do this and that I’m putting an ultimatum on her. Anyways, we haven’t talked since then, and I’ve been waiting for her to text me and it’s the longest we’ve went without talking. Looking back at the past 4 months, I realized that she actually might have not been interested in me at all and that the effort i’ve been putting in this is way more than her.

So, I have been thinking of texting her and respectfully say that I don’t think she has the same level of interest in me that I do in her, and that it’s not a good use of my time, or hers, to talk anymore.

NB: We’re in different areas right now because if the pandemic so we haven’t seen eachother.
