Unfortunately no matter how exciting the other person is, it’s hard not to feel a bit exhausted with the familiar process.
Even initiatives like replacing the traditional coffee date with an activity still feel a bit tiring. And I haven’t even had all that many dates or relationships.
This mindset is obviously doing myself and my potential partners a disservice, but it’s a hard one for me to let go of. And it’s probably causing me to sabotage myself In the long run by inadvertently coming across more negative than I really am.
Plus the early stages should really be the most exhilarating. Eventually in future decades there will come a time when the romance dies (in most cases and is hopefully replaced by friendship)..so I really need to shift my mindset to savour the early days with a partner.
Feel free to offer your wisdom and / or experience 🙂
