Call me old fashioned (f18) but in the past (and now – but trying to change my mindset), i always thought of dating in a more long term way. Even before I had any experience, I had this mindset of finding ‘the one’ and then getting married. What’s the point in dating if you don’t see a future with them? I think that is also part of the reason why I have “high standards” (i try not to – don’t really have a criteria) but it’s so hard for me to like anyone !! (I’m also bi so more fish in the sea yet can’t find any?)
So I’ve never really had a real relationship with anyone even though there had been quite a bit of guys who were interested in me (i never liked them back).
I did however fall in love with a girl (she was my friend) but she never liked me back and completely crushed my heart and i was HeartBroken for 2 years (it’s okay I worked so much on myself, and i’m completely over it yay me !! :))
So now, I kind of want to adopt the mindset of “casual dating” ? But i still hate the idea of “going on a first date and see how it goes” bc i just want it to be natural.
Is that wrong of me to keep pursuing this path? knowing that it’s too complicated and i prolly wouldn’t find someone for a very long time?
TLDR; want to try “casual dating” but don’t know how as i hate the idea of going on “first dates”. someone who feels the same way? how to change mindset ?
edit**** meant more “short term dating” rather than “casual”
