How to handle loss of momentum with dating during Covid times

I went on a 3 dates with someone (drinks, dinner/drinks, dinner at his place) pre-Covid. Since Covid, we've done a couple "date" nights that were movies/shows mostly initiated by him, but 4 months in, I'm at a point now where I want more clarity on where this is going and yet still feel I don't know him very well. He's in his late 30s, I'm (F) in my late 20s. He comes off as reserved but will text me every couple days with what he's up to and vice versa, and we'll do some harmless wholesome flirting. What I'm struggling with is I am starting to develop some feelings but I usually know someone much better than this by now – both knowing them in terms of their perspective on the world and how they feel about me. I'm all too aware of this paling in comparison with the world's disarrayed state, but I'm also slightly surprised we haven't bonded over this and not sure how much of the distance is because we haven't done much meaningful together for most of the time we've been dating, and how much of it is because we're not a match.

Can anyone else relate? Any advice for keeping perspective?
