How to keep prejudice at bay

I (25F) am just returning to the dating scene, after I ended a 1.5 year relationship miserably around March. I have given myself time and distance to heal, but I find myself to quickly judge the new guys I meet solely based on our chats (haven't seen them yet in person due to covid 19) For example, one of the guys (30M) I am talking to right now works at the same company so we know each other but very vaguely. We have been chatting for about 2 months now consistently, and he has stated that he is into me. At the same time though I find he often talks about his ex (broke up 3 years ago), and my brain is just more quick to register potential red flags, that make it very hard to get excited for a first date. How do you keep the judgement from ruining any prospective relationships, or even dates? I just foresee disappointment all the time.
