How to know that I (M31) actually like a woman (F34) and it is not something born out of the circumstances?

Now, I have known her (Liz) for over two years now. Over the past few months, we have been hanging out more (through skype and social distancing) and I have begining to known her more. We have a lot in common and I really like being with her.

My experience with dating and relationships have been minimal. I have dated 5-6 women in my lifetime and the longest relationship (circa. 2018) I have been in lasted 3 months.

I graduated from university this December and have had the free time to date for the first time in years. I chatted with several matches online and went on date with one, but I just can't seem to like anyone.

I have always admired Liz. She's in a far more advanced position in academic career than I am. She's extremely hard-working, accomplished in her field. She's funny, cute and I really resonate with her.

Since february this year, I have been thinking about her often. I think I want to pursue her romantically.

However, I am worried that this feeling about her might be a result of current quarantine blues, and other work related issues going on in my life.

How to know if there's any truth in my feelings?
