How to not come across as a simp

I’m aware that women don’t like men that are pessimistic or self deprecating, but I have a hard time selling my good points. How would an average guy go about showing someone that they’re pretty alright d(^_o) Like I can be a funny guy but I try not to be the center of attention. I’m athletic and in shape, but it’s not like I have abs or do cardio. There’s not really anything that I’m particularly passionate about, which I know is also not a great start. Basically I’m a human blank canvas or an uncut diamond. I just go with the flow but that’s not particularly attractive I’ve been told. Please help this pile of mash potatoes look like some tots. Also separate to that but what are some things that give y’all’s life sparkles.
