How to remove someone from pedestal and treat them as normal human being?

After reading a lot of posts on dating tips and realizing that I have put her on a pedestal and I am aware that I have lost my chance with her but all I wanna do is move on from her and treat her just as a friend. I want to get rid of this excitement everytime I hear from her and I can't ignore her trust me I have tried a lot. I explained the situation to her I told her I needed a break from her and 2 months have passed since I talked to her but still can't shake her off.
