I (24m) texted one of my classmates (20f) and we ended up talking a bit more than I expected and I can’t tell if she’s being friendly or is potentially interested

So, there’s a woman I’ve had in various classes at community college and we’ve never particularly talked very much and the only reason I ever got to know her was because my friends invited her to our study group. I texted her last night just casually asking about classes and I i was pretty surprised that she kept the conversation going by asking me questions and we also talked a slight bit about some minor personal things and what not. The thing is my friend went to hs with her and says she’s just very friendly, and I’m having a hard time deciding if she was just being friendly or if she wants to get to know one another a bit more. Should I just wait for her to message me? I was also thinking about maybe asking her for some coffee sometime if I get the same vibes from her that I got yesterday but I also don’t want to do it straight away and come off as desperate.
