I [27 m] feel like it may be time to give up on him [28 m] but idk if I’m jumping to conclusions

I have a hunch that this guy isn't worth my time and my intuition is probably right. But I thought I'd make a post and see others' perspective.

I met a guy on a dating app at the end of March. It was an instant connection and we got along great and had a lot of common interests.

Of course, this happened during the pandemic so we couldn't see each other for a long time. We kept in touch and talked every so often. In May, we started talking a lot more often and it eventually turned to talking and flirting almost every day.

As things started opening up again, I suggested meeting up. Our schedules weren't really matching up for a while but a weekend finally came up where we had time, but then he had a family thing come up.

I told him that I was disappointed that he didn't hit me up to reschedule and he got a bit defensive, but then apologized and we talked it out.

We finally got together last week and we had a blast together. We seemed really into each other and he said he wanted to get together again soon.

We haven't talked too much since then, snap some pics back and forth. But we definitely aren't talking as much as we used to. When I try to start a conversation we'll talk for a bit and it'll either just fizzle or out or he'll just stop replying.

We haven't been on a real date yet so idk if I'm jumping to conclusions here, but I have a hunch that he just likes my attention, I'm being breadcrumbed, or strung along until he finds someone better.

What are your thoughts? What should I do? Thanks in advance.
