He was a great guy but he had some issues with addiction. I was hopeful he would recover during our relationship but it made things worse. The good times always outweighed the bad and he was my best friend. But he began to lie to me and make me feel that even breaking up with him was me being ‘crazy.’ It hurts to leave someone you connect so well with yet suddenly the addiction becomes so bad they want to twist your reality too.
Whether you connected spiritually, emotionally or physically, it hurts to let them go. I feel this is the only thing I can do to even salvage a friendship with him in the future.
My best friend from my teens saved my life kinda by reminding me of who I am, what I deserve and how I should be respected. Love is trust. What’s the point of being with someone you can’t share everything with? If you’re having issues in your relationship, remember, don’t settle and most importantly love yourself and know your worth.
