I am a 44 year old Black man. My fiance and I have been through alot together in our 7 year relationship. We used to be very close, literally the best of friends. Then in 2016 we decided to date and become a couple. Eventually got engaged. And now here we are, 7 years after we met, and I can't really stand her anymore. She's cool, and I love her but I just don't want to be in a relationship with her anymore. We were much better friends than we are a couple, in my opinion. I keep trying to make it work, and overall we're doing fine, but I'm just not interested in a relationship with anyone. Before I got with her, I was single for years. As I compare being single and being in a relationship, I would much rather be single. I'm just not happy in this relationship, and honestly, I wasn't happy in any relationship that I've ever been in. It seems forced now, to me. The friendship that we once had is long gone, now replaced with her and a constant smart ass mouth, zero respect for anything that I say, and me always having to reassure her that she's the greatest. I'm old, she's old. However, my kids are adults. I can just be chillin right now, enjoying life by myself without worrying about anything or anyone else but me. Her children are still kids, 10 and 13. I feel like I can just be alone and not have to deal with any of her bullshit, kids, baby daddy, none of that shit, but as stated, I do love her and we've been through alot together. We're engaged, but I have lost all interest in any marriage with her or anyone else. I just want to be by myself, and I honestly believe I would be cool with being alone for the rest of my life. Relationships just don't seem worth the time and effort, and I truly believe I was happier when I was single. I don't really need advice on what to do, I know what I need to do. I just wanted to vent, so, thanks for reading this.
TL/DR: I'm old and tired of being in a relationship
