I am a 26F, who is very mature for my age. I am tired of the dating scene and looking for someone long term. I met this guy, through a mutual friend. We were only seeing each other briefly, we have a large age gap between us so I figured he would be mature at the age of 40. When we hung out, it was great, we had a great emotional connection and we could talk for days (in person at least). He has a great personality, and a good head on his shoulders. Though when we weren’t seeing each other in person, we barely texted, he said he was always busy with work and life. Which is completely understandable for what he does. I just like a little attention once in awhile, and not weeks of no contact. Though, I wasn’t great with it either, I didn’t want to bombard him with texts if he wasn’t reciprocating. When we did text it literally lasted 5 minutes long, because he would just use emojis. He would always ask me to hang out last minute too, it made me feel like a second option from another girl. So I brought it up to him to see what we were in his eyes, FWB, or more. He said we were dating and didn’t want FWB with me. That’s when he actually asked me to come hang out 2 days beforehand, which sounded like a good step in the right direction. But when that day came, I didn’t hear from him once and I guess you could say I tested him since I waited till 10pm and still didn’t hear a thing. I know I probably should of said something along the lines of if tonight was still on, but I felt like I needed to see if he actually cared about me. Instead, I ending up sending him a decent text explaining what I’m looking for in a relationship and how this isn’t making me feel appreciated. I ended the text with telling him that I hope he has a great life with endless opportunities. He responded with “thank you, you too.” It’s been 4 days since I have done it, and now I’m starting to miss him and I feel maybe what I did was wrong. So I went on FB, and I found out he blocked me and deleted me on Snapchat. I don’t truly understand the blocking, as I thought I was sincere and I never did anything negative to cause that. I want to text him, but I have a feeling he blocked that too. Should I try to rekindle this, or take my loss and move on?
Thanks for the suggestions!
