I (F22) had the worst first date possible with a British lad (M24) I met off Hinge. We decided to meet up for a picnic date at the beach. When I first came up to him, he was already blaring his techno tunes on his speakers and everyone around us was looking. I was very embarrassed and lowered the music down. We connected through music that’s why he brought his speakers. Anyways, he brought us 2 bottles of Ciroc vodka. He probably drank about 1.5 bottles to himself and I drank only a little because I’m lightweight. He proceeds to tell me crazy stories of his partying life back home in England while talking super loud. Again I was embarrassed because I have high social anxiety. I told him to quiet down but he said he doesn’t care what people think because he’ll never see them again. I had enough so I pretended to lay down and fall asleep so he would stop talking. He proceeds to say I hope I’m not boring you and asked me if I want a drink like 5 times. I couldn’t rest because he was talking to my face up close and trying to get me to wake up. Anyways he was being too touchy and I felt very uncomfortable. Also he was spilling the drinks all over my picnic blanket and making the blanket dirty with sand everywhere. He was just such a sloppy drunk. He was telling me how he thinks I’m gorgeous and one of a million. He really really likes me. He said he stopped trying with the girls here but he thinks I’m special. I ended up driving his drunk ass home. He apologized the next day after I told him how I felt. He really wants a second date. He explained himself how he was nervous and wanted to drink to settle his nerves. Should I give him a second date? I’m not sure if it’s worth it long term. We had some good moments but it was mostly him being sloppy drunk.. I don’t know what to say to him.
