I don’t know if I should pursue or leave it alone..
I’m back into the game after taking almost a whole year to heal from a toxic relationship and weight loss journey.
I (23F) work at a store in management and we frequently have vendors come through on a very regular basis. There is this one vendor (late 20s male) who is pretty attractive and I know that I’m attractive as well, but for months he would straight up ignore me and only talk to my boss about vendor stuff. But in this time he would give me kind of these longing looks. Recently I have tried to initiate us speaking and on one occasion I said “hi”to him and he croaked out “hey, how are you”. Fast forward a couple of weeks of more ignoring and just looks. Then last week I got the courage to ask him something business related and then once my question was answered I walked away because my boss was there. Yesterday, I was managing the store alone, listening to music through my earbuds loudly and he had to pass by with his cart in a small aisle so I stepped aside and when I looked up at him he said something and I said “hmm?” And then he just smiled at me. After the fact I realized he was trying to say hi and my music was too loud to hear. I have him smiling at me ingrained in my head cause this is out of character for him. I will admit I avoid eye contact with him cause I think he’s attractive and I’m shy.
My hesitancy in doing anything is because I’m moving across the country next month, but should I give it a shot in the time I have left or maintain my professionalism?
