Basically, my relationships have always been long-term and I’ve always met them in person either through mutual friends or at work. My last relationship lasted almost 5 years and after healing from that, I finally decided that it’s time for me to carry on with my life and start dating again. Except, I feel like I don’t know how to date anymore and when the whole online dating became popular, I was in a relationship so I never really experienced using any of the dating platforms. Also, the thought of meeting someone online just scares me. All my friends who have used them had little to no success. It’s almost counterintuitive for those people who has a profile because I feel like these people aren’t even ready to be in a relationship.
BUT I did give it a shot. I created a hinge and left it for about a week. Didn’t really swipe on anyone except for one person. Chatted with him for a couple days and gave him my instagram because I wanted to delete the app & he was interesting so I wanted to get to know him more. I gave this guy the benefit of the doubt because I’m such a sucker for meaningful conversations. The ones where you literally have a lot to ask/say and it’s being reciprocated. It went well for another couple days but I started noticing his response were getting shorter and slower.
Prior to talking to this guy, I had already “dated” two other guys I met in person but they didn’t work out because “they’re not ready.” Well, same thing happened with the guy I met online. He was also not ready & now I’m just left wondering why on earth are these people putting themselves out there if they’re not ready. WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO COURTSHIP AND ALL THE ROMANTIC GUYS OUT THERE LOL ???
I don’t know, maybe I am just an old school type of person & I honestly don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. It just sucks. For context, I’m 25 lol and I know I probably still have time lol.
Thanks for listening and reading my frustrations lol any advice you can provide is appreciated ❤️
