I feel like I don’t ‘click’ with anyone… is this normal?

I [26F] never feel like I really click with anyone that I date. It’s hard to define ‘click’ but I guess I would say easy, not forced conversation and having some things in common at the bare minimum. It’s one of those things that you can just tell when you do or don’t.

I’ve been in 5 relationships (the longest lasting 7 months) and have dated a decent amount of people. If you count guys I’ve talked to but didn’t end up going out with then god knows how many. Out of everyone I’ve probably only truly clicked with 3 people and they didn’t work out for various reasons.

You’re probably thinking “Oh well you’re just not giving them a chance”. I understand that you might not know on the first conversation whether you click or not so I try not give up on someone that fast unless it’s really bad. I’ve also found the opposite to be true – I’ve thought I clicked with someone but then as I got to know them realized we didn’t. There is so much ground to cover on this topic but I also don’t want to make this post too long.

I’m just wondering if this is normal because I feel like everyone around me is constantly in a relationship and seem to find someone they click with easily. If they break up they find someone within a month whereas I’m here perpetually single because I just can’t bring myself to be in a relationship someone I don’t really click with anymore. I wonder if they actually click with these people or if people are okay with dating and not clicking.

One last thing to add – I have plenty of friends (mostly same gender) who I definitely click with so it’s not like I’m completely incapable of it. It just seems to be in a dating context I don’t meet anyone who I do. It definitely sucks but I’m not sure if there’s much I can really do about it other than settle, like I said you either do or your don’t.
