I had a few long term relationships in the past and when I am single, I would hook up whenever I feel like having sex. Mostly the men I picked to hook up with weren’t the best character wise. I’m picky when it comes to physical appearance but I would keep around men who were rude and disrespectful.
during quarantine, I have been reflecting back on my life and I recognized that I didn’t know my self worth all these years and certainly didn’t believe I deserve to be treated better. So now when I think about the kind of men I was I was hooking up/was in a relationship with, it makes me sick to my stomach.
I joined dating apps recently and I’m finding it so much easier to unmatch the bad ones immediately. Also, I’m trying to focus less on appearance and more on character. So if you wonder why you always find yourself in toxic relationships, I would say work on yourself. when you know your worth and believe you deserve better, you won’t tolerate bullshit.
