I have my search preferences set for the whole world on OkCupid. Very occasionally I come across a woman in a different country who I really feel like meeting. Is this a good idea?

I was getting extremely limited interest on OkCupid by setting my search preferences to just the city where I live, or even my whole country. Women almost completely ignore me.

However, 2 years ago, I decided to set my search preferences for the whole world. I got into lots of interesting conversations with a wide variety of women over the world – women from Asia, Africa, South America, some from USA. I spoke to many on whatsapp, doing some video calls, sharing some pictures, adding them on Facebook.

Many of the women seemed nice, but it would take someone particularly special for me to even consider travelling to another country (special in terms of personality and chemistry – I do not care about looks).

There have been just 2 women who I really feel like meeting in the 2 years since changing my search preferences to the whole world. We have spoken a lot on whatsapp, videocalled, shared pics. I have been speaking to 1 of them on and off for 2 years. She really wants me to visit her, telling me that she wants to have my babies, marry her, calling me cute and many other things. I have never experienced such desire from a woman before in my own country and I doubt I ever will.

Do you think it's a good idea to travel to another country to meet a woman like this? All advice appreciated.
