I like a girl and need some advice. Starting from square 1.

My apologies for formatting and whatnot.

Of course, obviously, things aren’t as simple as normally cuz of the entire pandemic drama.

So I (16M) like this girl (17F) who is just a couple of months older then I. Same year level (grade 12), same high-school, only share one class.

Both she and I have some foothold in sports/some sort of physical activity, but apart that we don’t have much in common. We talk occasionally, but not too often, so it’s not as if there’s a complete divide, but it’s not like we’re close either. We’ve got each other on social media, including doing streaks with her on Snapchat. Mostly stick to our own friend groups, to be perfectly honest with ya.

One of my close mates and his gf know about this (they are both reliable individuals so I trust them), and they offered to act as wingman/wingwoman if I really need it. Thing is… they’re help mostly consisted of “man up mate, you can do it”, so… yeah, not much help.

I have never really properly asked someone out, or properly dated. Near zero experience. I simply do not know what in the world I am doing. …….. I don’t even know if she likes me back…… So, you see my little problemo? Occasionally opportunities for conversation pop up but I blank out on anything to talk about, so I just let it slip. Blatantly saying “HEY YOU KNOW WHAT????? I likey likey youuuuuu!!!” is completely out of character for me… so yah. I don’t want to look like a complete fool or creep, that’s for sure. I may also just be overreacting, or overthinking it. I’m lost. Any advice for a starting point? Any advice on discreetly “testing the water”?

Thank you so very much for any help!!
