I'll start by saying I've never had a girlfriend and I'm 21, I've always been really shy and anxious around girls. Anyway, I met this girl at college, She approached me, we spoke a bit and eventually she asked for advice regarding a breakup so I told her that I'd never been in a relationship and she asked if I was a virgin and even if I'd be willing to lose it on several occasions. I hung out with her a few times over the course of about 2 weeks. I really enjoyed her company and she didn't mind making physical contact, in fact she was making almost all of the physical contact. I took her out on her birthday for some coffee and she appreciated it way more than I expected, things were going pretty well until this damn coronavirus bullshit.
I had to return home which is over 300km away from her. We started texting a few days later and kept things light until one late night conversation when I confessed that I had feelings for her. Since then she has started calling me 'baby', 'sweetie' etc. There's even been the occasional sexting session here and there. We've had pretty deep conversations and she has shared some pretty dark secrets with me and says she's never met anyone who genuinely cares so much. However, sometimes it feels a little one-sided in that she always replies really quickly but her replies are almost always short and she hardly asks questions or tries to carry the conversation. On a recent interaction she randomly texted 'lol, I miss talking to you' but I was horny and that conversation led to some more sexting and I couldn't help but feel a bit guilty about it so I didn't text her for a full day. The next day she tried calling me 4 times but I was in the shower, when I told her this she said it was fine and she was only calling because 'she misses me and wants to hear my voice'. I texted her later but the conversation was boring and it died quickly. I'm a really bad texter.
One of my main concerns though is that I probably won't see her for a long time because of this bloody coronavirus. I hope that if she really is interested in me she doesn't lose it since I'll only see her again when college reopens which might be a couple of months from now at best. I'm also bothered by the fact that she hardly texts first and doesn't participate in conversation or that she may be talking to other guys since she's online on WhatsApp really late sometimes. Still, I miss her so much it hurts, she's almost becoming an obsession at this point…
I don't know what to text her next and I don't wanna come across as too needy. Should I text her or wait for her to text me? How do I keep things going so she doesn't lose interest?
This is completely new territory for me so any advice would be highly appreciated.
