This situation I’m going through probably mimics what others are going through or have gone through during the pandemic, but it still stings a lot.
I know it’s childish to ask someone to “wait” for you, but I thought this guy and I separately came to the conclusion that we’d want to see each other in person when quarantine is lifted. After all, we did talk about how we both preferred to talk to one person at a time.
After months of getting to know each other through calls and text, I got a message from him saying that I can’t contact him again because he had started talking to a girl who was willing to hang out in person with him almost immediately. I don’t know when it started but I don’t care.
Nothing was official, but I still feel disappointed and upset, especially when he reassured me throughout that he understood and was okay with the fact that I couldn’t go out due to my weak immune system.
