I started dating this guy, about a month later he has to move back the US. We broke up but I can’t help keep thinking what if??

I (23) hes(24). I live in the UK. Really liked him he left before we could ever really figure out if there was anything between us. I don’t know this guy at all but I feel like I’m romanticising him and how great he would be if we were together. It’s probably partly because we were just in the honeymoon stage when he left and I’ve never seen any of his flaws. Still can’t stop thinking about him though like would we still be dating now? Idk. It’s been a year since he left.
