I'm 20 M and never dated before, and I really really like this female engineering classmate who I've talked to and became close with and Idk how, but I got the courage to ask her out on a date and she agreed. It's just a walk and getting to talk, etc. I got so nervous I asked my best friend for advice who's the type to eat hot cheetos while drinking Pepsi and say "you came to the right person for dating advice" (because that's literally what happened). He told me that I should not wear my expensive watch on the date because it makes it seem like "I wanna GO GO GO and get out ASAP". He told me that I should carry some sort of pepper spray just in case she pulls a gun on me (I know, it is so crazy). And he told me that I should buy her small invaluable gifts because if I jump the gun and buy her an expensive necklace or something, it will set the bar for future birthday/christmas/anniversary gifts. He also told me to ask her about her exes. I have the date tomorrow and I don't know if he's giving me good advice, can someone here please confirm? I'm sorry if I suck at this, I'm an engineering student who's never gone on a date, even though I have gotten asked out several times though
