I want to let him go but don’t know how

I’ve been talking to this guy for a few months. We only were able to hang out twice since the stay at home order. He doesn’t act the same anymore. I’m not happy with how we text, he doesn’t ask me how my day was anymore, he never texts me good morning or good night… I’m just not satisfied.

I brought it to his attention. I told him that I felt like something was off and that I noticed we haven’t been texting as much. He told me he’s busy with work and school. He clearly ignores me because he’ll be on social media day and night. He’s not as invested anymore. I’m not happy with how we’ve been communicating.

I don’t want to ghost him, but I don’t know exactly how to go about letting him go. Do I say anything? Should I ask if he’s interested?

I mean, he’s clearly not as interested as he once was, but I keep telling myself it might be quarantine that’s making him act up. Then again, I might be making excuses because I don’t want to accept the truth. I’m not sure how to go about telling him that his inconsistency is a turn off and that I’m concerned as to why we aren’t talking as much anymore.
