If a girl isn’t into a guy. Why would she constantly tell him that she thinks his good looking

I like this girl at my work and I was told by one of my colleagues that she only likes me as a friend. So I've backed off from asking her out after lockdown. Yet she keeps telling me that she thinks im good looking and I'm confused. Why would she do this if she only likes me as a friend?

I'm flattered that she thinks this but I dont get it. Is this normal? No other girl who im friends with does this or treat me like she does.

She is really nice to me as well. She banters amd teases everyone else but yet is constanly nice to me. Telling me that she always misses me when im not around her. I know she likes me, i just dont know at what level of that is. As a friend or more than a friend.
