I’m (20m) don’t know how to meet people and the only person I have met and liked blew up in my face.

I am a introvert, so I dont really like going out much, but I want to meet someone to be with. I dont want to start out dating someone because I want to build a friendship that evolves into that, but I just cant find anyone who is of interest to me. For some insight I like anime, like outdoor activities, and I play a fair bit of video games, while working and paying for college. I've never been with someone or much less been on a date before which puts me at a odd spot for a 20 year old, and it's not because of physical appearance, but mostly self isolation, and my inability to talk well over social media. I know this is odd, but I just dont know how to find someone.
