I’m [24F] taking my long-time friend [24F] out on a date; not sure how to treat it differently from a regular hangout

Since society is collapsing I decided to get over my fear of rejection and ask my friend of 9 years out on a date. She accepted but asked why a date, and I responded with “Why not? I want to.” She got excited and I will be teaching her how to ride a bike this weekend, and then hang out afterwards.

I’ve been friends with her for 9 years and we can already talk about anything – jobs, sex, personal problems, you name it. When were both home from college/work we hang out and play video games or watch movies, including with other friends.

I haven’t tried dating in 5 years and back then it was with strangers, and we lived in student dorms. Both my friend and I are living with our own parents (who have been egging us to get together for a while). Idk how I can make this more of a “date” than a normal friendly hangout session without feeling forced.

Any advice or personal stories are appreciated.
