I’m dating again and even though I’m an adult and well aware of the need to be safe if I have sex. It’s nice to know my parents still care about my safety. I’m not close to having it in this relationship yet but I have ground rules I lay out before anything happens.
I’m going to sound corny saying this but I’m well aware of the pressure some people feel from others and society regarding sex. I want to tell you something real quick. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you consider yourself to be. No one should shame you for wanting sex or not wanting it.
Maybe you are in college and I know (I graduated in 2016 so trust me I remember) there are definitely people having sex. It may seem to be a common thing and parties. If you don’t want any of that it’s ok there is nothing wrong with it. Some people like to party and others don’t.
Sometimes a relationship in college can be a little much when you also have five papers to write and books, homework etc. dating is nice and when you feel ready I would tell you to go for it. Even if it’s just to test the waters you can learn a lot from going on a few dates. Learn what you are looking for and really want in a relationship.
That’s all I have for now. I hope everyone is doing well and ok.
Have a good one!
