“I’m not ready for a relationship” is just another way of saying “I’m not that into you”

Of course there’ll be extenuating circumstances in which the first statement is true. Maybe his/her family member just passed away. Perhaps (s)he has yet to get over a previous relationship.

But I believe that if everything’s normal and the person is still “not ready for a relationship”, I’m afraid (s)he is just not that keen on you. It’s a way to let you down gently.

Is anyone with me? Or are there any success stories I should know of?
