I’m a 27 yr old white woman. I’m dating a 33rd guy who is of Indian and Swedish descent (50/50). He knows that I have a history of dating men who are not white. Sometimes, he will refer to himself as a “brown guy”. I don’t mind it at all. I posted a text message he sent me on facebook (just the words, not his info) where he referred to himself as a “brown guy”. A mixed race female friend commented that she wasn’t “sure” about his comment though. Is it racist for me to be dating a guy who isn’t white? I am a little confused. I want to be respectful and sensitive.
