Is a dinner date a bad first date idea despite the ongoing pandemic?

21M. I asked a girl out and I wanted to take her to mini-golfing but obviously due to COVID-19, not many places are open yet. Some restaurants are open but I’ve read to avoid dinner dates as the first date. Need opinions
