So 4 years ago I (23f) meet a guy (26m) at community college. I was in a long term relationship at the time so nothing ever happened but he was very sweet and made a real effort to be in my life. Once the semester ended though I distanced myself because I knew a had feelings for him.
Flash forward 2 years and I've finally broken up with the previous boyfriend who was very manipulative. A few weeks post breakup cute boy from CC starts talking to me again and we actually plan a date. I ended up standing him up after having a panic attack over trying to move on from my ex. I havent been on any dates since then and have dedicated all my free time to dealing my issues.
Two weeks ago cute boy from CC startes talking to me again and is somehow not pissed at me. I'm in a much better place mentally now and we plan another date. This date was about a week ago. We agreed because of the virus we didnt want to go out so we hung out on his patio. It was really casual and I was having a great time. He had mentioned drinking while we were planning the date and so it wasn't weird that he had a couple beers and I had one too. But he kept drinking all night for a totally of 15 drinks. By the end of the night he could barely walk and was making nonsensical ramblings about who knows what. After trying some softer ways of leaving I finally just told him to walk me to my car before he ruins the whole date. As I'm getting in my car he manages to form a complete sentence and tells me that if I dont have sex with him that night he doesn't see a future for the relationship. Of course the next morning he apologized. I told him the next day that I cant be with someone who's going to say manipulative things to me and behave so inappropriately. I feel so blindsided. The person that I knew before and the person he was before he got so drunk was such a smart and caring person. Part of me knows that I would be disrespecting myself to continue this but I also know how stressful first dates can be, especially with so much anticipation, I'm tempted to offer a second chance.
