Hello. I (23F) have been texting a guy (26M) for about a week. We matched on a dating app and connected over similar taste in books. We had our first fight yesterday. He was mad because I didn't respond to his messages for a few hours. Even though I had warned him beforehand about being occupied with a meeting. It became evidently clear that he doesn't take my job seriously. It was upsetting and we argued about it. But all seemed good when we talked it through and he accepted that he should not disturb me during work hours. But then this happened after a few minutes :
He : Do you look cute when you are angry? I should have asked for a photo earlier.
Me : Good to know that you value my looks above my emotional well being. Kudos.???
He : Yes. I do.. if your emotional well being is my responsibility….then your looks at that time are my reward.
Seems like a red flag to me. Is it? Or am i overreacting? Isn't his statement demeaning? I can't be with a person who doesn't take me seriously. And this wasn't a playful fight. It was a full on serious argument about my work. It's my first reddit post. I feel another discussion/argument with him about this will result in another condescending remark. Any advice on how to make him take me seriously?
