Is it okay to start talking again?

I (21F) have recently reconnected with a friend (22M) this 2020 and we've been chatting for almost 4 months now. Even invited me to hang out after work. That was before the quarantine though. We met 3 years ago via mutual friends. We sorta clicked and been keeping in touch every now and then. Would talk for weeks and then it'll stop for no reason. It's only this year where we got to keep talking for this long, and mind you, I have troubles with keeping the conversation going because : 1) I am a well reserved person, 2) my life isn't really interesting; I just attend college, go to work, go home, play games if I have time, sleep, the cycle continues. 3) struggles with anxiety.

We stopped talking (again) about a week ago because…neither of us initiated a conversation. Although he reacts to my tweets. I do feel bad because I can't prolong it and I can sense that he was trying his best to revive it, like asking random questions no matter how unrelated it is. I think he grew tired of that or maybe he saw it as a chore that's why it lasted this long.

In all honesty, I really do like him. I want to talk to him again but I'm afraid that maybe he's not interested anymore and I'm just an inconvenience. Or maybe it's only me who feel this way. I really thought this could be a potential relationship (*note, I am on the asexual spectrum and I rarely get these kinds of feelings towards another person.)

Do I just let things the way they are or should I reach out?
