Is it still a “casual” relationship when it’s been over a year?

I’m not sure if I am asking a question or advice, but just gathering your thoughts if you have been seeing a person for over a year now and it’s not an official relationship. Do you think you have wasted your time?

I don’t want to end up being hated one day for being part of his regret. I am moving away at some point that’s why I am just wasting mine at the moment-no point on seeing someone serious as I am totally against LDR.

Although he has been great, I know he didn’t want to pursue a relationship with me. He wasn’t the relationship type kind of person-coming from himself during our early days

It’s more if a “situationship” now, but he has been saying recently how he can still see me after moving away (2 hrs drive) – I have dismissed his suggestion as I believe he hasn’t thought about that kind of effort more deeply. Especially if it’s not a serious relationship.

Easy to say “you can always ask how he feels now” but fear of rejection is always there and finding a new boy during pandemic sucks.
