Is it weird to be more frustrated that you can’t do anything dating-wise than with being single?

Title is basically a TL;DR version of what I'm going to say.

I [22M] rarely get opportunities to actually talk with girls in my age range.

First off: my campus only has tech and car related courses, so the students are 95% men. There aren't any in my class at all. Because of that, I get the feeling that there isn't any particular reason to actually try to date the few girls there are unless they actually show interest in you. The guys around here also don't go anywhere where there are more, thus they don't really know anything about such events/places.

This year, I started theater as a hobby (I already wanted to do that for a while anyway) and I hoped this would change my stated problem. I was the only male in class, butt most of the women were way older than I am (with one stating she was in the parents committee of my old elementary school), one was probably 22-23, butt already taken, and the last one was 16.

I don't like that I'm trapped in this situation, I am however, in a weird way, ok with being single. I think it's the feeling that I can't improve my dating skills that does it. Is this normal, or am I just a weirdo?
