Going to make this long story short or at least try.
Back in January, my friends and I including my housemate (Shannon) went out to a busy bar to get drinks one night. I ran into a old crush (let’s call him Jack) who I’ve known for years but never initiated anything with him in the past because I was in a relationship. Now I’m single.
We started chatting, got flirty, tequila shots started to get ordered. Jack and I were pretty much glued to each other. It just started off as a good night with a old crush and friends until this other guy surprisingly showed up. I’m single but at that time I was dating (Adam) on and off for a couple months who is actually mutual friends with Jack (small town problems)
Adam got a bit jealous when he saw me at the bar with Jack. I didn’t really know how to act since I was a bit drunk. He pretty much pulled me away and asked me why I was hanging with Jack and explained how he doesn’t even like him.
I noticed how drunk my housemate Shannon was getting… 5 mins later I turned around and she was making out with Jack. My instant reaction was why would she hit on him when she knew I was flirting with him the whole night. I’m not defending Jack or anything because of course it takes two to tangle.
30 mins later Shannon, Adam, Jack and I end up at my house. We started playing truth or dare Jenga, and I just remember giving Jack death stares and keep making mean drunk jokes directed towards him to show how annoyed I was lol.
To end the night, jack slept over but in Shannon’s room and I end up sleeping alone because Adam had work early in the morning.
Jack left in the morning. I didn’t ask Shannon why she hooked up with Jack but I asked her if she liked him and if she was gonna continue to see him. She said “I’m not sure, I think it was just random.” It made me mad because I genuinely liked him and she was just so nonchalant about it.
Fast forward to 6 months later he told me that he was sorry and it only happened because they were drunk and he was super jealous when Adam showed up.
I wanted to just give it some time to put some thought into it before I start investing my time on Jack. I don’t think it’s a big deal but I’d love to hear other people’s thoughts since I hate awkward confrontations especially with a housemate…
