Is online dating during lockdown worth the effort for somebody like me?

I'm new to this Tinder thing although I'm single.

I've been trying it a bit just this week and so far frankly I personally have found it sucks. I hardly ever get any matches on it and when I do they never reply. Now I feel like I burnt through all the women on it.

Hardly anyone likes my profile who shares literally any of my real life interests like running, pilates or yoga.

Then I look at videos like this and think

Why the hell should I bother putting so much effort that this dating coach does to get results. Going by the supposedly "good" photos he's got up frankly, I feel my photos are good enough and I don't want to bother annotating them with text in Adobe Illustrator or Affinity Designer or write elaborate jokes when girls write hardly anything and have no text and give barely any details.

Apparent classic online dating advice is to start blirting out some sort of elaborate word play rather than simply saying hi based on what there profile says.

I simply don't have the time for creating fancy scripts, I am too busy in the real world doing a PhD for example and starting a consulting business.

In real life all I want is a deep conversation with people.

Frankly many of the girls I see on Tinder I probably don't really want to date, but the one or two that do I never have any chance of contacting them. Simply because I will be drowned out by the flood of swipers.

Some say all the girls hate this flood of guys anyways.

So I put this to you all. Should I really bother at all with Tinder right now? I was getting frustrated and started using it because I was worried about all the single girls starting to use it and suddenly all having boyfriends.

Once I come out of lockdown which is really only two weeks away in my part of the world will there still be single women who I can meet again in real life or will they all have matched up with guys on Tinder by now? When I can finally do the things I want? Join running groups,
go to yoga studios, gyms etc…

I don't have time for drama and heaping tons of sarcasm for example that some suggest and frankly girls who want that that I've met before I don't really find that interesting in real life.

I don't see how I could have a long-term relationship with such girls. I would become unhappy really quickly.

I just want to find someone who I can share goals with and grow to become the best version of ourselves with. I just don't see how online dating is the right avenue for me to find the sort of girl I am interested in. Can I give it up?
