Is she interested?

I’ve [27M] known this girl [29F] for about two years now. From day one we were very flirty, but she was in a long term relationship at that time. She was very open with me that the relationship wasn’t great, but she wasn’t ready to give up on it. They stayed together for another 18 months or so and we stayed friends, chatting and hanging out once in a while, but never taking it any further. We stopped talking almost entirely last October. I always had feelings for her and I think I just finally gave up. Fast forward 6 months to early April of this year, and she contacted me. Since then, we’ve spent almost everyday talking well past midnight. She talks about all of these things we need to do together and places we need to go. I went to see her for the first time about 2 weeks ago (we live 2 hours apart) and it was great. We had a great time and we kissed, but didn’t take it further than that.

The part I’m struggling with, I really can’t tell if she’s interested in pursuing a relationship. I’ve noticed that since we hung out, she’s gotten much more distant over text, almost ignoring me entirely most of the day. We still talk most nights and the conversations haven’t changed, still talking about things we need to do. But outside of those phone calls, I feel totally ignored.

Is it best for me to just ask what her intentions are? Should I lower my effort to match hers? I’m really struggling to read her and don’t know how to move forward.
