Is taking too long (days) to reply to texts always an indication of a lack of interest, even if the conversation is going good?

I always see people saying that taking too long to reply almost always means that the person is simply not interested, but what about if the conversation is stimulating and going good, are they just using you for backup/ just being nice? What do you guys think?
